Join us for the next meeting of the Pooler chapter of the Silent Book Club!
Here's how it works: Come in to Stir Coffee and look for the Silent Book Club sign on a table. We will try to sit in the room with the fireplace, in the back. If you get there before me, feel free to have a seat on the couches back there!
* First 30 Minutes *
Come in! Say hello if you like, order a coffee or treat, or just sit and open your book. If you want to skip the socializing or don't want a coffee, you are welcome to wait until after the first 30 minutes are over to arrive.
* Next Hour *
Silent reading hour! Read nearby other members or off on your own. If you need to talk, please make sure to step away from the main reading area. Sometimes the outdoor seating is available as well. Just ask up front if you want to go to the back outdoor seating.
* Last 30 Minutes*
You may keep reading, or you may socialize if you feel inclined. Share book recommendations, swap books, or just chat.

There is no pressure to socialize in any way. If you just want to read, you can definitely do that! This is an introvert's happy place. If you do decide to chat, just remember to be kind and follow group rules.
*A note about the location: Stir Coffee Co. was chosen because it has a large public space that does not require us to pay money to rent it or anything, and they are a local business that is open on Sundays. They also have great coffee!
That said, Stir is affiliated with a church that is next door. They do not have a service Sunday mornings, but they so often rent out the space to another church that has service Sunday mornings so you may hear it. However the people who work at Stir do not push their views. You may also hear some Christian music mixed in with the other music playing over the Cafe speakers.
I am open to using other locations, but it has to be free and have space for us to meet, and be open on Sunday mornings. Message me if you have an idea!
