JANUARY MEMBERSHIP MEETINGBruce Cates, Program Chair
Our first membership meeting in 2026 will be held Sunday, January 11th at 2:00 p.m. inside the Rum Village Nature Center in South Bend. Our speaker will be Jeremy Sheets, Senior Wildlife Biologist, Vice President, and founding member of Orbis Environmental Consulting. He will be speaking to us about bats. He has 16 years of experience in bat identification and 20 years of experience in wildlife surveys with a focus on bat ecology and urban wildlife management. Come and learn about the only mammal capable of true flight, the role they play as pollinators, and how they help control mosquitos and other insects. Our meetings are free and always open to the public. Bring a friend, meet new people, and have some hot refreshments and delicious treats. Enjoy observing the woodland birds that flock to the nature center’s feeders. Hope to see you there!
