Join us for our next event on Tuesday January 14th, 5-8pm at Food AND Medicine, 20 Ivers St. in Brewer! Plug in to the great social and environmental justice work that FAM does, see their unique space on the bank of Penobscot River, sip on tasty craft beers provided by the Homebrewers of Greater Bangor, enjoy delicious snacks provided by The Enchanted Fork, and make some new friends! The City of Bangor Community Development Office will also have a table set up to share their new Land Use Plan.
This will be an indoor event, with a cozy wood stove fired up. We are excited to partner with The Homebrewers of Greater Bangor who will have several different beers on tap, brewed by their members, and will be offering small pours of each. Bring your drinking vessel! You will be able to vote for your favorite beer, and the winning brewer gets a Buoy Local gift card! FAM will be providing a delicious mulled cider as an N/A option as well.
Parking is limited in the FAM lot, so most folks are advised to park in the Saint Teresa's Church parking lot directly next door, on Ivers St.
A bit more about our host:
*Food AND Medicine* fosters sustainability by promoting community-driven solutions that address economic, environmental, and social challenges. From supporting small farms and organizing food rescue efforts to promoting shared resources and skill-building, we empower people to create self-sustaining systems, collaborate, and share resources. Through a wide variety of opportunities such as the Collective Gardens, Transportation for All, and Peer Workforce Navigator programs, Food AND Medicine ensures access to a network of solidarity for working families.
And a bit more about our partners:
*The Home Brewers of Greater Bangor* is a group of homebrewers and beer enthusiasts that meet semi regularly for beer tasting and brewing events
*The Enchanted Fork* is a Bangor-based Cafe and Personal Chef service creating delicious culinary treats for all occasions and diets
*The City of Bangor Community Development Office* will be sharing their new land use plan which guides how the city grows and develops in a way that benefits all residents. It makes sure there's space for homes, businesses, parks, and other needs while protecting the city's natural beauty.
As always, Greendrinks is a free, family-friendly event, so bring the kiddos! We will be carding so please bring your IDs if you plan to drink! Donations are always appreciated, but not required. All funds raised will go to our Green Grants program, which are micro grants for local environmental projects.
See you soon for some Brews in Brewer!
Cheers,
The Bangor Greendrinks Familia
