Calling divers and non-divers! This month, we are doing a beach and underwater cleanup at Mote Aquarium and Marine Laboratory. Enjoy hot coffee, and a fresh donut, then head off to help us remove debris from the shoreline and underwater. Your efforts will directly contribute to preserving marine life and habitats.Location: Use the Keating Building, 1599 Ken Thompson Pkwy - (the first building on your left coming down Ken Thompson). There is parking at the building and across the street. Entries will be from the dock and exits from the pier or a set of stairs.
8:30am - Check-in and Gear-up
9:00am - Briefing for divers and non-divers about the site, conditions, and specifics on what to expect. Low tide is around 9:55 a.m. Because of the storm, there could be some large pieces of debris down there, so maybe some lift bags.
Depths will be from 1' to 15', viz is dependent on cold fronts.
