January Chapter Chasers Book Club: Bawk to the Future

Chapter Chasers Book Club is designed for emerging readers (ages 6-9) who are chasing the thrill of reading their first chapter books! We encourage both independent reading and family read-alouds for these selections, with the goal of getting kids excited about reading and fostering connections with a community of readers. Our 20-minute book discussion is followed by a themed read aloud and craft or game.

Our January discussion will center on Bawk to the Future, the first book in the new chapter book series Time-Traveling Chickens! This is a highly visual early chapter book full of humor, talking chickens, and dinoaurs! Our main characters are named Nugget and Tenders, as and super-smart talking chickens when they accidently time travel to the time of dinosaurs they seem an opportunity to change the fate of all chicken-kind.

Parents are welcome to stay on the Junior side and participate or browse the adult side, but they must remain on-site.
