Overview:
A successful partnership with your donors is dependent on deepening their trust in your organization, and in you. If donors don’t have a deep confidence in your organization, or in you as a representative of the organization, they are not going to make a large investment.
One of the key tenants of the AFP Code of Ethics is to inspire fundraisers to “Act according to the highest goals and vision of their organizations, professions, clients and onsciences.”
But what does it mean to “recognize professional competence and responsibility” and “put philanthropic mission above personal gain,” especially when you also need to meet goals, quotas and KPIs?
And how can adhering to those ethical standards actually improve your donor interactions?
As AFP officially rolls out its updated Code of Ethics in January 2025, we’ll focus our January program on exploring the new Code as well as how to use the updated standards in your everyday donor interactions.
This session will offer a clear explanation of the new Code—especially its keener focus on transparency and conflicts of interest, as well as a broader conversation around improving donor relationships and tactical ethical challenges.
Attendees are invited to tour the Art Show and Sale afterwards.
