January 20th Swing Dance on the StourCanterbury’s regular swing dance club returns for the second time in 2026 on Tuesday January 6th at the atmospheric riverside Mooring Cafe & Bar, home to the Canterbury Punting Company. This week we’re starting the evening with a solo jazz steps class with our fantastic guest teacher Emma Claydon.
Featuring a great mix of Big Band Swing, Jump Jive, Boogie Woogie, Gypsy Jazz, Early Rhythm’N’Blues, Western Swing, Hillbilly Boogie, Broadway and Movie Melodies, Latin, Exotica and Calypso from the 1930’s to the 1950’s.
No strict dress code but vintage style is always appreciated.
Free entry, though any donation to the running of the evening is always welcome.
