Jane Smiley Reading at Cavallo Point

Join Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Jane Smiley for a special afternoon of conversation and readings at the beautiful Cavallo Point Lodge, set beneath the Golden Gate Bridge in historic Fort Baker.

Jane will discuss her acclaimed new novel, Lidie (published April 2026), sharing insights into its creation, the craft of writing fiction, and the creative process behind building unforgettable characters and stories. She will read selected passages from the novel, followed by an audience Q&A.

Books will be available for purchase courtesy of Sausalito Books by the Bay, and Jane will be pleased to sign copies following the event.

This complimentary public event is presented as part of the Catamaran Writing Retreat at Cavallo Point. Advance registration is requested, as seating is limited.
