Aspiring novelist Agathe (bilingual Camille Rutherford) is unhappily single in her job at the famous Paris bookshop, Shakespeare and Company. After all, she hasn’t had a date in two years. Seemingly out of the blue, she receives an offer to attend a writers’ residency at the Jane Austen Society in England. It transpires that her colleague and friend Felix has secretly submitted her manuscript in the hope it will be the cure to her writer’s block. Instead, the move results in Agathe becoming unwittingly caught in a romantic triangle. Described by one reviewer as having ‘a coziness that makes you hot chocolate on a cold day’, the film features both English and French languages and is written and directed by Laura Piani.
