Come celebrate the Regency era during this 250th Anniversary Celebration of Jane Austen. We will have several regency era outfits in a limited-time pop-up fashion exhibit in the Anderson Art Gallery in the Provo Library.Every outfit has been hand-made by local seamstresses and tailors who are avid Austen fans. Many of them have been worn during balls in the same Assembly Rooms where Jane Austen danced and referenced in her novels.
See embroidered day dresses, gentlemen's suits, a custom Mr Collins suit with a copy of Fordyce's sermons, and ball gowns adorned with pearls, rubies and diamonds. Individual displays describe the patterns used and how each outfit came together from concept to completion.
Come see what Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice or Eleanor Dashwood from Sense and Sensibility would have worn. Or just come be inspired for the next Bridgerton Ball!
