James Wengrow Crypsis Trio

CRYPSIS TRIO is led by Brooklyn-based Australian-born guitarist and composer James Wengrow, featuring Danish bassist Mathias Højgaard Jensen and New York drummer James Paul Nadien. On Wednesday, November 4th at 8 pm at DADA, they'll play songs from EMISSARY, their debut album recently released on jazz label Endectomorph Music, plus other new tunes. Presented by Jazz Generation; $10-$20 donations recommended. “Wengrow unleashes a collection of angular micro-symphonies that inhabit an abstract place while remaining meticulously detailed… The trio thrives on razor-sharp detours and constant pivots without sacrificing continuity… Few records move this comfortably between contemporary chamber jazz, free improvisation, and abrasive experimental rock. Listeners drawn equally to Paul Motian, Behold…the Arctopus, or Lightning Bolt should find plenty to admire here” - ALL ABOUT JAZZ
