James City has some of the richest history in the state of North Carolina!
Join us on June 13, 2026, for the Circa 1850 Slave Quarters and Far Cemetery tour. This structure (pictured) was renovated and moved from its original location on the site of the antebellum Meadows Farm, now the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Neuse Blvd., to Howell Rd. behind the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport.
This site is also where the Far Cemetery is located where 522 graves of Freedmen were buried during the Civil War. American history, in our backyard!
