On December 25th the world stops to honour the immense musical legacy of Soul Brother Number One, Mr Please Please, The Hardest Working Man in Show Business, Mr Dynamite, Jaaaaames Brown!On 2006 on this day JB passed away and we gather, this year at Old Plates to dance the night away, it’s all JB, and we go through the 5 decades of music he made that continues to influence and infiltrate our funky funky lives.
We open with Jazzy James from 8pm with Mike Gurrieri the the R&B hits with Celia Bow - then Miss Goldie plays the women produced by JB, Chris Gill brings the super funk, then El Fuentes drops the hip hop that samples James, finally DJ Manchild brings us home with more funk!
