JAMES BOND GALA is a captivating concert featuring Scandinavia’s leading jazz vocalist Sinne Eeg. The acclaimed Danish singer breathes new life into the legendary James Bond theme songs, performing them in an intimate, swinging jazz style.
Backed by a superb hand-picked American orchestra and starring pianist Josh Nelson (Natalie Cole, Kurt Elling, Ivan Lins), the show was born from a chance meeting in Hollywood where Sinne and Josh discovered their mutual passion for these iconic melodies.
“Many Bond songs are little masterpieces, absolutely on par with the greatest jazz standards,” says Sinne Eeg. “We play them as we would any standard: From ‘Russia with Love’ becomes a groovy swing, ‘You Only Live Twice’ gets a fresh modern touch, but we never go too far — the essence and elegance remain.”
Highlights include ‘Goldfinger’ (Shirley Bassey), ‘Nobody Does It Better’ (Carly Simon), ‘Live and Let Die’ (Paul McCartney), ‘License to K*ll’ (Gladys Knight), ‘No Time to Die’ and more.
