ABOUT THE MEDITATIONS
Formed in 1974, The Meditations (Ansel Cridland, Danny Clarke, and Winston Watson) cemented their status as foundational reggae legends right from their early hit "Woman Is Like a Shadow" and landmark albums Message From The Meditations and Wake Up.
Their signature, soulful harmonies caught the ear of none other than Bob Marley, who invited the trio to sing backup on iconic tracks like "Punky Reggae Party" (produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry), "Rastaman Live Up," and "Blackman Redemption." Widely considered to be Bob Marley’s favorite vocal group, their harmonies also grace classic tracks by Jimmy Cliff ("Bongo Man Youths Them A Cry") and Gregory Isaacs ("Mr. Cop").
Led by founding member Ansel Cridland—alongside harmony vocalists DaddyLion Chandell and Toussaint Webb—The Meditations continue to tour the globe and drop incredible music, including their 2021 release The Meditations & Friends—Smile Again and their 2025 album Live It to Know It.

Opening up this powerhouse showcase is The Highlife Band with Adrian Xavier! Known for their infectious, upbeat fusion of world music, highlife rhythms, and roots reggae, they’ll be setting the stage ablaze and getting the dance floor moving early.
