Jacob Woodworth’s Celebration of Life Softball Game:Please RSVP on this page so we can get the most accurate headcount for food and beverages.
Event details:
Per Jacob’s request, we are having a softball game in lieu of a formal memorial service. His wish was to have the ones he loved come together and have fun playing ball, while reminiscing about good times he had with them. We hope anyone who knew what a wonderful person and teammate Jacob was, can come and celebrate his life with us.
Date: May 16th (weather permitting)
Alternative date of May 17th pending weather.
Modern Woodmen Park: 209 South Gaines Street, Davenport, IA 52802 (River Bandits Baseball Stadium)
Tentative schedule for the day:
12:00pm-1:30pm: Everyone can arrive beginning at noon. Food & drinks will be available, come hungry!
1:00pm: Moments of dedication to Jacob by family & friends. Please let Jacy know if you wish to say any words in his honor.
1:30pm-4:00pm: Plan to play slow-pitch softball game. Kids and families are welcome!
*You do NOT have to play to attend. One of Jacob’s best characteristics was making everyone around him feel welcome. Regardless if you are a family member, friend, former teammate, or simply a community member who knows Jacob’s story, please still come and enjoy the afternoon with us, watch the game, and celebrate his beautiful life that ended too soon.
*If you do wish to play, please sign the waiver through the link below. Either post on the event page with your first & last name stating you’re interested in playing or personally message Jacy so we can keep track of the number of people wanting to play.
You will need to bring your own glove, a bat is optional as we will have some but if you have one you’d be willing to let others use, please bring it as well.
*More info to come on T-shirts that will be available to purchase online. These are completely optional and you do not have to buy one to play. If you do decide to purchase one, plan to wear it on the day of the event. I’ll share an update on this event page as soon as they’re available to order.
