ABOUT JACOB
Bassoonist Jacob Lomboy was born in Des Moines, Washington, and began his musical journey in middle school band at the age of twelve. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University, where he studied with William Ludwig and Kathleen McLean, and he is currently completing his master’s degree here at Lynn, in the studio of Whitney Crockett.
Jacob has performed as a substitute musician with the Miami Symphony and with Ballet Indiana, and he has participated in master classes with internationally acclaimed bassoonist Gustavo Núñez. In May 2025, he advanced to the finals for the Atlanta Opera Orchestra.
Outside of music, Jacob enjoys weightlifting, specialty coffee, and cooking.
