You’re Invited to our I’m Powerful Event – A Celebration of Strength, Heritage & Identity on March 15th, 2025 from 11am-2pm at the Spartanburg Art Museum� At Bloom Upstate, we honor the beautiful and sacred journey into womanhood. Our Rites of Passage Ceremony is designed to educate and uplift our girls, helping them embrace the beauty, strength, and wisdom that come with each stage of their development. What is R.I.T.E.S? Rituals Inspiring Transformation, Empowerment, and Sisterhood. This experience connects the 4 seasons of womanhood to the moon’s cycles & positive menstrual health, guiding our girls with cultural traditions, wellness, and ancestral wisdom. Every culture has a coming-of-age tradition —this is ours for Black and Brown girls.
From I’m Possible to I’m Powerful: Last year, we hosted the transformative I’m Possible event, honoring the trailblazing Ms. Kitty Black Perkins. We showed young women of color that they and their dreams are possible. This year, we build on that legacy with a powerful new chapter: I’m Powerful. It’s not just about possibility—it’s about stepping into the fullness of your power. We are showing young women of color the profound impact of recognizing their lives as not only possible but as inherently powerful. This year, we are proud to feature Dr. Lacretia “Cre” Dye, a leader in counseling, menstruality justice, and body-based healing. She will lead a transformative session on positive menstrual health on how to embrace your cycle with confidence.
