IWM Presents: Nature and Creativity Series- Rituals and Resourcing

In this immersive workshop, we’ll slow down and attune to the rhythms within and around us—following threads of mystery, intrigue, and curiosity. Through sensory exploration, creative expression, and shared ritual, we’ll reconnect with the wisdom of the body and the natural world as sources of support and inspiration.

Together, we’ll weave practices that restore and resource us—welcoming both light and dark transitions, honoring change, and deepening our connection to the rhythms of the natural world. Come with an open heart and a willingness to be surprised by what emerges.

• Learn about different kinds of rituals and practices to align with the unique energies of the Season
• Guided Trail Walk and meditations- intentional practices to cultivate curiosity, inner stillness and awareness.
• Nature-Informed Sensory Practices- Engage the senses to foster presence and nervous system regulation.
• Mindful Nature Art- curiosity and expression using natural materials and simple techniques—no art experience necessary! Some art will be coming home with you!
• Opportunities for quiet reflection and meaningful group sharing
• A supportive, inclusive space—no prior experience needed

• Nervous System Support Tools- Learn gentle, accessible practices to help you return to a place of balance and learn how creativity impacts the nervous system.
• Deepening MAPS in Nature Practices- Enhance your connection to yourself and the natural world through our IWM's "MAPS in Nature" framework.

We will be outdoors for the duration of this workshop, please come prepared with weather appropriate attire, shoes, water and whatever snacks you may need to make your day most comfortable

• Art is fun and can be messy! Keep in mind when choosing your outfit!
• Water and snacks for your comfort
• Any personal items you need to feel at ease outdoors

We will be outside for the entire duration of the workshop, so please come prepared to fully enjoy the fresh air and changing season.

Locust Grove Nature Center provides a natural sanctuary from the surrounding urban bustle in Bethesda, Maryland and offers many things to do, including environmental interpretation and education programs for all ages.

Location has bathroom facility in nature center next to workshop location.

This is an outdoor, rain-or-shine event designed to help us reconnect with the natural world — in all her moods. Please come prepared for changing weather (sun, rain, wind, cool nights), and bring appropriate clothing and gear for comfort and safety.

In the case of severe or unsafe weather conditions (such as lightning storms, wildfire risk, or high winds), we may adjust the schedule, delay, or cancel the event for safety.

If we must cancel due to weather, you’ll receive a partial refund (total minus $25 venue fee) or credit toward a future offering. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we honor both the land and your wellbeing.
