About this Event
Join us for our January iWitness Lunch Break at FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus. Professor Vanessa Charlot of the University of Mississippi will be in conversation with award-winning photojournalist Carl-Philippe Juste and others about the art of capturing the everyday. We will also welcome singers from the Florida Grand Opera who will give a bilingual performance. As always, we will be joined by Master of Ceremony, DJ Mack.
Thanks to a grant from South Arts, we are joined by Ten North Group Visiting Artist, Vanessa Charlot. Charlot is an award-winning photographic artist, filmmaker and Assistant Professor of Media and Communication at the University of Mississippi School of Journalism and New Media. Charlot, herself a Miami native and a member of Miami’s Haitian community, will take us through her practice of documenting and uplifting community.
Lunch will be served.
