On August 23rd, Irreverent Warriors Portsmouth is proud to bring the First Annual Silkies Hike to NH. This event is designed to unite the veteran community here in the Granite State.Who Can Participate?
This hike is open to all Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard, and Reservists.
Civilians are always more than welcome to help up as volunteer staff helping ensure the event runs smoothly for our veterans.
Check-in starts at 0830 at The American Legion Frank E. Booma Post #6. After that, we hit the pavement, bringing together those who’ve served, building bonds, and most importantly, reinforcing that no one hikes alone.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a Silkies Hike veteran, this is your invitation to sign up, lace up your boots, throw on some silkies, and be part of something bigger than yourself. The day is about camaraderie, connection, humor, and the healing power of shared experience. It’s not just a hike. It’s a movement to improve veteran mental health and prevent suicide in our community.
