This fall, we're doing something a little different after hours at Ivy.

We're teaming up with Julie Garton of JG Wine Co. for a series of four intimate evenings built around wine, food, conversation and discovery.

Each evening explores a different part of the wine world, with Julie selecting the wines and taking us through the stories, places and people behind every bottle.

Julie is an Advanced Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Italian Wine Ambassador, former wine educator at George Brown College, and has spent years building and leading wine programs at some of Toronto's most celebrated restaurants and hospitality groups.

And now, we get to have her at Ivy.

We'll start each evening together with a welcome glass of bubbles before moving through a flight of five wines selected by Julie. Along the way, the Ivy. kitchen will serve a series of small bites to complement what's being poured.

There will be plenty of time to taste, talk, ask questions, meet new people and simply enjoy being together around the table.

Whether you already love wine or are just excited to discover something new, come curious - Julie will take it from there.

October 23: NORTHERN ITALIAN RARE GEMS

A journey through some of Italy's most exciting lesser-known wines.

For our first evening, Julie takes us to Northern Italy to discover the indigenous grapes, regions and traditions that make Italian wine so endlessly interesting.

We'll travel from the fog-covered hills of Piedmont and beyond, tasting wines that tell a story about where they come from - the land, the people and generations of winemaking behind them.

Expect beautiful wines, unexpected discoveries and plenty of stories along the way.

November 6: CLASSIC FRANCE

Wine, Place & Origin

For this evening, we're heading to France.

Julie will guide us through some of the regions and wines that have shaped the wine world - from Burgundy and Bordeaux to the Rhone, Loire, Alsace and beyond.

Together, we'll explore how grape, climate, place and tradition come together in the glass, tasting each wine while discovering what makes its region so distinctive.

A beautiful introduction to classic French wine - and an opportunity to discover even more if France is already a favourite.

November 13: ALL THAT SPARKLES

Prosecco, Cava, Champagne & Beyond

An entire evening dedicated to bubbles? Absolutely.

We'll taste our way through some of the world's most loved sparkling wines, from the fresh character of Prosecco and traditional-method Cava to Champagne and exciting sparkling wines from beyond the classic regions.

Tasted side by side, Julie will show us how grape variety, place and winemaking method can create completely different expressions in the glass.

Come for the bubbles. Leave with a few new favourites.

November 20: NEW WORLD ICONS

The Grapes That Defined a Country

For our final evening, we're travelling further afield.

What happens when a classic grape finds a new home?

From Shiraz in Australia to Malbec in Argentina and beyond, Julie will take us through the wines and grape varieties that found extraordinary new expressions far from their European origins - eventually becoming signatures of the countries that embraced them.

We'll taste, compare and discover how climate, geography and winemaking helped create some of the most recognizable wine styles in the world.
