The Blue Ridge Irish Music School (BRIMS) will be hosting multiple event this year to help celebrate IUPD.The events begin with a 2-day Piping Tionol, Nov 1-2, 2025 with three incredible piping instructors - Cillian Valley, Ivan Goff, and Caoimhín Ó Feargháil. Caoimhín comes to us as part of the NPU Irish Piper Program to send Irish pipers around the world on IUPD to promote the Uilleann Pipes and Irish Culture, with the help of funding from Culture Ireland.
As part of the NPU Piper Program, there will be a FREE Children’s Concert on Nov 1 for children in Charlottesville and the surrounding counties. This will be a lively-interactive program intended to expose the children to the importance and excitement of music and dance in Irish Culture.
We will cap off day one of our IUPD Celebration with an Evening Concert given by our instructors- who will be joined by one of our local groups - Dusty Hedgehog.
On Day 2 there will be Piping Workshops on a variety of Topics. There will also be offering a Flute Workshop - led by Ivan Goff.
