Cozy up for Story Time with nationally known children’s book author and Oshkosh native Pat Zietlow Miller in Caramel Crisp Corner on Sunday March 23rd (1 pm). There will be great stories a fun craft and the wonderful opportunity for your children to meet and talk with a successful author who grew up right here in Oshkosh!

March is Reading Month and what better way to celebrate than to bring the whole family to hear two of Pat’s great books read by the author herself! Pat will be reading “Be Kind” and “Unstoppable John”. 

“Unstoppable John” tells the story of the great hero of the Civil Rights Movement John Lewis and his childhood quest to obtain his very own library card. At that time in our history library cards were only for white people and the letter that John wrote to the library making the case that libraries were for everyone was his very first protest! Although his letter went unanswered he went on to become one of our nation’s greatest leaders in the fight for racial equality. “Be Kind” takes the concept of kindness and examines it in a way that children can understand. This is the story of how a classroom event causes one student to examine her behavior and the behaviors of her classmates and the impact of those behaviors on her peers.
