Interact with wood, live demonstrations and talks (all whilst in the comfort of a local village hall).Mike Taylor is owner and manager of local woodland. The talk takes you through the purchase of the woodland 15 years ago and re introduction of the coppice cycle to a badly neglected and almost derelict woodland. Michael will talk about how he utilises the space to improve the biodiversity and sequester carbon in the woodland from dereliction, to now and how Michael is utilising the space whilst see the continued range of biodiversity of plants, birds, and so on.Following the talk Mike will give a demonstration of some basic green woodworking techniques and principles There will be opportunities to have a go at making some simple woodland flowers.There will be time for Q & A. free refreshments and an opportunity to meet with other people in the community and network.Whether you are new to carbon sequestration and nature led resilience or whether you have your own garden or patch of hazel come hear about how we can make a positive impact on nature and have fun in the process.This is a Stafford Borough Council Funded event and is free to Stafford borough residents, workers, volunteers and or community groups to attend.
