In the words of Slade, IT'S CHRRRRRISTMAS at Tuneless this week. Obviously time to go all out with Christmas Jumpers and other accoutrements! Details of the Fuddle and Hamper Raffle below. In terms of singing:
• Expect everything from the sublime to the ridiculous, from Winter Wonderland to I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. Via Last Christmas and Fairytale of New York. With all the Wizzard, Slade, Shakin' Stevens classics of course.
• To bring Christmas to Yorkshire we'll once again try to sing While Shepherds Watched to the tune of On Ilkley Moor Bah'Tat.
• NEW: Merry Christmas: Ed Sheeran & Elton John (2021) This is a bit of an experiment to try to add something more modern to our Christmas repertoire! It did very well in the charts... we'll see how it is to sing!
• NEW(?!): The Twelve Days of Christmas: Christmas Carol (1780) Probably not new to you... but the first time we've done it. Clare has actions for it. Nadine will probably poke herself in the eye again!
We think that might be the record - 241 years between our oldest and newest songs.
FUDDLE:
We'll be opening up a bit earlier (6.45pm) in case you'd like to share some festive food for "tea".
If you'd like to join in, bring a plate (or a packet) of something and we'll share. Finger food as we only have paper plates and napkins, savoury or sweet.
HAMPER RAFFLE:
With your kind donations we've managed to put together three fabulous hampers to raffle in aid of Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Mind. Each contains over 25 items!
Tickets will be £5 each - so there's no chance of someone winning two from a £5 donation! (You can buy more than one ticket though...) PLEASE BRING CASH TO ENTER!
If you walk to choir, we are happy to transport your hamper home if you win!

We're the choir for people who can't get all the right notes in the right order!
Come and get the endorphin-boosting benefits of group singing, without the pressure. We rattle through popular songs, from the 50s to the present day.
We usually meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.
Contact us if you have any questions, but feel free to turn up at 7.15pm! It's a case of going down the wide passageway to the left of the Methodist Church.
Newcomers are very welcome. Pay only £12 for your first session including registration with the choir. (Unless you know someone in the choir in which case you can tryout as a guest with them first, for £7 though it all works out similarly in the end.)
Thereafter it's £9 "pay as you go" or you can book a term which works out as the equivalent of £7 a session.
Includes hot chocolate & Wagon Wheel, tea & KitKat, coffee & Club biscuit, or such like. Please bring your own mug if convenient, otherwise we have disposable ones you can use.
