It's Christmas 5km

On the shortest day of the year, let's spread light, warmth and a little festive cheer! DO something amazing to support those feeling the pinch, at a time of year that everyone should be able to enjoy.

Whether you run, jog, or stroll, you’ll enjoy our picturesque 5K route and the unbeatable feeling of doing good while getting active. Hosted by DOrunning and SMD Active Together, this special event will give a donation from every entry helping people facing hunger, homelessness, and hardship this Christmas.

That is not all – we’ll also be collecting food donations on the day to help stock up supplies for those who need them most. Together, we can turn a small community effort into a lot of hope.

You’ll be treated to the full festive experience: your own event t-shirt, a bespoke Christmas medal, an official finishing time and a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie to toast your triumph!

Taking to an easy to navigate signposted river route (with marshalls), the race village will be set up inside the brilliant Big Shed at the Trent Navigation on Meadow Lane, just a few yards from the start and finish area.

On a what is likely to be a cold moning, they will kindly provide hot refreshments. As well as being a dry and warm place to congreagte, there'll be toilet facities and a secure bag drop.

Early bird entries are just £20 before 28th November (rising to £25 after). All ages and abilities are welcome to take to take part in this feel good event, to kickstart Christmas in great spirit.

Families, groups, teams and walkers are encouraged to take part. For those that take it a it a little more seriously, prizes await the top three male and female finishers. So don’t wait – register now!
