It's ALL about Soil! (Quimper Grange)
About this Event
The WSU Jefferson County Extension Master Gardener Program is proud to host James Cassidy, Oregon State University soil scientist and researcher. He will deliver an engaging presentation on the remarkable role soil plays in our everyday lives. Learn how soil forms, how it stores water and nutrients, what nutrients actually are, and why soil is fundamental to life on Earth. Along the way, you’ll gain a new appreciation for the ground beneath your feet and the critical importance of soil conservation worldwide.
This event is for everyone: farmers, gardeners, and curious humans alike. No one leaves unsoiled!
A rockstar turned scientist, Cassidy has served as Faculty Advisor for the OSU Organic Growers Club (OSU’s Student Farm) for more than 20 years. His enthusiasm for teaching and soil science makes this a presentation you won’t want to miss.
Suggested donation $10 – $15, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. We will take cash donations onsite.
