Italian Wine Experience

Come and savour an Italian experience in the heart of Richmond Park where you will sup and learn about various wines from family-run vineyards across Italy, ranging from Campagnia to Verona.

Italy is a huge source of excellent indigenous grape varieties, producing exciting and delicious wines. Throughout the evening you will learn about and taste some of these wines whilst wandering through the secluded, private and peaceful gardens of Holly Lodge.

Your expert guide will be Gordon Stutely, co-founder of GS Wines, a small importer of high-quality artisan wines from private vineyards across Italy. Gordon will pass on his passion for discovering new wines with his informative and entertaining chat, outlining each of the bottles being sampled. He will also provide a small booklet detailing each wine as well as general background information.

This event is held in the private and secluded grounds of The Holly Lodge Centre in the middle of Richmond Park.

These gardens, not usually open to the public, will be open exclusively for this event.

Musical and other extras

As well as a welcome glass of bubbly and an array of Italian charcuterie and cheeses upon arrival, you will be serenaded by an accomplished award-winning international flautist. Please see full details below.

Ukrainian-born, award-winning, international flautist Sofiia Matviienko, will play us some beautiful flute solos including pieces with a rustic folk-song flavour, perfect for listening outdoors on a warm, sunny, Summer evening! Sofiia is Rickmansworth Young Musician of 2022.

We're a small local charity, hidden away in the heart of Richmond Park. Whilst small it is mighty, with over 8000 local children, adults and elderly visiting each year to learn about the wildlife and heritage of Richmond Park. The centre specialises in working with children and adults with disabilities, providing bespoke sessions devised to meet their needs and allowing them to get up close to nature.

Funds and Tickets

As usual, all proceeds go towards the annual running costs of The Holly Lodge Centre. Our exceptional education programmes explore science, nature and history and specialise in activities for those with additional needs. We do not receive any Government funding. Therefore, it is only through your kind generosity, plus donations from community groups, trusts and these fund-raising events, that keep us up and running.
