It Takes A Village: A Community Conversation on Safety, Healing, and Hope
About this Event
Join us on August 18 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Neighborhood House in High Point for It Takes a Village, a community gathering that brings together youth, families, community leaders, and local partners to engage in meaningful dialogue about safety, gun violence, and the lived experiences of High Point residents.
This event is designed to create a welcoming space where young people and families can share their concerns, experiences, and hopes for a safer, stronger community. Through surveys collected from youth and parents, community voices will be highlighted in a presentation featuring data and visual stories that reflect the real needs and priorities of High Point residents.
Together, we will explore how safety concerns have impacted youth participation in programs, activities, and opportunities that support healthy development. Many families report feeling hesitant to allow their children to engage in extracurricular programs due to concerns about neighborhood safety, limiting access to spaces that foster growth, connection, and well-being.
It Takes a Village is an opportunity to listen, learn, and work collectively toward solutions that strengthen community trust, support youth success, and create a future where all families feel safe and connected.
We hope you'll join us as we come together to build a stronger, safer High Point community.
