ISV Lab x PersiaHK: Persian Splendour in Poetry and Wine
About this Event
Following the success of Keeping Up with the Sasanians co-hosted by ISV Lab and PersiaHK in July and as summer approaches its end, you are cordially invited to relax, unwind and savour an evening steeped in the beauty, history, and heritage of Persia.
In Persian Splendour in Poetry and Wine, Dr. Behzad Nasiri returns to guide the audience on a magic carpet ride through the ocean of Persian poetry, sharing timeless verses from Rumi, Khayam, and Hafez. Guests will learn to interpret these works within their rich cultural context, and even have a go at reciting poetry lines in Farsi.
Joining Dr. Nasiri this time is art historian Dr. Konstance Li, who will respond to the sharing with an art historian's perspective—offering fresh reflections on the imagery, symbolism, and beauty woven through Persian poetic traditions.
As the verses unfold, thoughtfully curated wine and light refreshments will be served to pair with the poetry, echoing its rhythms and moods. Join us on August 25 to enjoy an evening that is elegant, relaxing, and delightfully exotic.

About the Speakers
Dr. Behzad Nasiri, an Iranian researcher and global citizen, is driven to share the story of Iran’s people. His path also included years as an international tour guide and hostel manager, fuelling a passion for travel, cultural connection, and human stories.
Shaken by the scale of loss and repression in Iran’s ongoing crisis—including the protests followed by war experiences shared by his family and friends, and how these events affect their daily life and emotions—Behzad now focuses on highlighting Iran’s rich history, enduring culture, and the resilience of its people—offering a personal, informed lens on a nation at a pivotal moment.
