ISSA LV Q3/2026 Chapter Meeting @ Sierra Gold
About this Event
Presentation by Nadia Hansen:
Agentic AI: The New Attack Surface & the New Security Team
AI is moving quickly from tools that assist people to agents that can take action across systems, data, and workflows. That shift creates new opportunities for security teams, but it also introduces new risks that many traditional controls were not built to address.
In this session, Nadia Hansen will discuss what changes when AI agents begin acting inside our environments, how that expands the attack surface, and what security leaders and practitioners should be asking now. The conversation will cover real concerns such as prompt injection, credential exposure, over-permissioned agents, supply chain risk, governance, auditability, and human oversight.
Attendees will walk away with practical takeaways they can bring back to their organizations, including how to start building an AI agent inventory, review permissions, and ask better questions before the next AI vendor renewal.
What We Will Cover:
• How AI agents differ from AI assistants
• Why agentic AI creates new security and governance risks
• Key threat vectors security teams should understand
• How AI can also support security operations
• Practical governance principles for AI adoption
• Monday morning actions your team can start without a new budget
