Isou és lettrista mozgalma alkotják az európai avantgárd történetének egyik legkreatívabb, legharciasabb és ugyanakkor a legkevésbé tárgyalt területét.
A felvilágosodás humanista eszményében gyökerező irányzat egy enciklopédikus (az élet, a tudomány és a művészet minden területére és ágára kiterjedő) egyetemes rendszert hozott létre, melynek célkitűzése nem kevesebb, mint az új ember, és az eljövendő paradicsomi társadalom megteremtése volt.
A dadaizmust meghaladó, a szituacionizmus közvetlen előfutáraként ismert radikális művészeti mozgalomról nemzetközi konferencia kerül megrendezésre Budapesten, a hírhedt avantgárd próféta, Isidore Isou születésének 100. évfordulója alkalmából.
A centenáriumi eseményen akadémiai kutatók és érdemes művészek fogják Isou és a lettrizmussal kapcsolatos kutatásaikat bemutatni, az Aix Marseille-i Egyetem Filmművészeti Tanszékétől a washingtoni National Gallery of Art-ig, a Paris-Diderot Egyetem Általános Orvostudományi Karától egészen a Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetem Media Design tanszékéig!

Isou and his Lettrist movement constitute one of the most creative, most fierce and yet least discussed areas in the history of the European avant-garde.
The Lettrist movement, rooted in the humanist project of the Enlightenment, created an encyclopedic universal system (covering all areas and branches of life, science and art), with the aim of creating nothing less than the new man and the paradisiacal society to come.
An international conference on the radical art movement that superseded Dadaism and is known as the direct predecessor of Situationism will be held in Budapest to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the notorious avant-garde prophet Isidore Isou.
At the centenary event, academic researchers and distinguished artists will present their research on Isou and Lettrism, from the Film Department of the University of Aix Marseille to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., from the Faculty of General Medicine of the University of Paris-Diderot to the Media Design Department of the Moholy-Nagy University of the Arts and Design!

The hybrid format conference will be held in English, with Hungarian subtitles for the digital presentations.
