This week we highlight the incredible playing of Ian Toms as we pay tribute to the music of current jazz master guitarist Bill Frisell. Ian is one of Canada's top jazz guitar players and improvisors and we're lucky to have him playing here on PEI. Backing Ian this time is the Island Jazz Quartet with Chris Martell bass, Mat MacEachern drums and Dan Rowswell sax.Americana Jazz guitar legend Bill Frisell has been a leading jazz guitar player since the late 80's, coming to prominence as a stalwart for ECM and then Nonesuch. Since 2000, Frisell's eclectic output as a bandleader has emphasized folk, country music, and Americana/roots music.
