About this Event
Join us for an Islamic illumination workshop using handmade pigment paint. During the session participants will be able to mix their own paint and create botanical illumination pieces on handmade paper, with a gilding technique to finalise the artwork. 🎨
Haseebah Ali, the facilitator, is a socially engaged artist and arts educator with a background in illustration, sculpture and textiles with a specialised focus on printmaking. Her artistic aim is to create art that not only speaks to people, but to make work that continues to educate and challenge both audiences and herself. ✨
What to expect:
- All materials (including handmade pigments and handmade paper) are provided 🖌️ 📜
- A step-by-step guide from Haseebah on mixing paints and applying illumination techniques
- The chance to create your own botanical illumination artwork on handmade paper
