Join Samira Mian - geometer, artist and educator - for this workshop exploring Islamic geometric drawing. You'll be guided through how to create your own construction using a compass and ruler, before adding colour and detail, resulting in a unique design that you can take home with you. No experience is necessary; this session is open to all, whether you're a beginner or expert.
Samira is a local artist that uses her twelve years teaching Mathematics at secondary school in her work. She shares her passion for the compass and straight edge constructions of Islamic Geometric Patterns, bringing this art form to a wider audience in the UK, abroad and online.

The Lunch and Learn programme will take place during Summer 2026 at the newly reopened Perceval House, a space that will connect people, place and culture at the heart of Ealing. These free sessions - exploring culture, heritage and wellbeing - are open to all.
