Introduction to Duathlon
A duathlon is a sporting event that combines two distinct sports within a single competition, primarily featuring running and cycling. The duathlon consists of three distinct legs or segments. Initially, participants engage in a fixed-distance run on a predefined course. Subsequently, in the second leg, participants cover a specified distance by cycling. Finally, in the third and concluding leg, participants once more take to running to complete the race. Notably, the distance covered during the second run is half that of the initial run.

The race's running segments will be conducted inside the park.
Running Route:
Cycling Route:
The cycling route for the event will encompass the roads around F-9 Park and will follow this course:
1. Cyclists will commence their ride from the Cycling Transition Line and proceed south, exiting the F-10 side gate toward McDonald's.
2. After exiting, cyclists will make a left turn, heading east along Jinnah Avenue.
3. At the traffic signal, participants will execute another left turn onto Agha Shahi Avenue, riding north toward Shaheen Chowk.
4. From Shaheen Chowk, they will once again make a left turn, proceeding west on Khayaban-e-Iqbal (Margalla Road), passing by the PAF hospital.
5. Riders will then make a left turn onto F-10 Service Road East, heading south towards the F-10 gate of F-9 Park. This completes one lap of the cycling route.
6. For those in the Sprint category, three such loops are to be completed, while participants in the Olympic category will need to finish six loops.
7. Upon completing their final lap, cyclists are required to dismount their bikes at the cycling transition line and walk them (whilst keeping their helmet fastened) to the designated stowing area within the transition zone.
Transition Area
The transition area serves as the hub of the duathlon, where all participants will move from one activity to the next. It is crucial to note that cyclists must keep their helmets on at all times while within the transition area. Failing to adhere to this rule will lead to the disqualification of the individual cyclist or their respective team.
Transition Area Lines
The transition area is clearly defined by marked lines, delineating its boundaries and serving as important reference points. These lines serve the following key purposes:
1. Running Transition Line: This line indicates the starting and finishing points for the running segments of the race. Participants begin and end their runs at this line.
2. Cycling Transition Line: The cycling transition line marks the specific location where cyclists mount their bikes to commence the cycling leg and where they must dismount when concluding it.
It's crucial to emphasize that cycling is strictly prohibited within the confines of the transition area. Any cyclist who disregards this rule and rides their bicycle within the transition area will face disqualification from the race.
The Tag Area
The tag area plays a crucial role, especially for participants in the Team categories of Sprint and Olympic duathlon. Here's how it works:
1. First Running Leg: After completing the initial running leg, the runner must tag their partner within the Tag Box. This tag allows their cycling partner to move forward to the cycling transition line.
2. Second Leg (Cycling): Upon completing the cycling portion, the rider must, in turn, tag their running partner within the tag box. This tag enables the runner to proceed to the running transition line for the third and final leg of the race.
It's important to note that failing to tag their partner in the designated tag box will result in the disqualification of both participants. Proper tagging ensures a smooth transition between teammates and is essential for the team's continued participation in the race.

Water Stations
Water stations will be set up at three strategic points throughout the event:
1. Along the Running Route: One water station will be positioned along the running route to provide participants with hydration during the race.
2. At the Transition Area: A water station will also be available within the transition area to allow participants to replenish and rehydrate as needed during their transitions.
3. Along the Cycling Route: An additional water station will be placed along the cycling route to ensure cyclists have access to fluids during their ride.
Participants are welcome to bring their own refreshments and keep them near their bicycles in the transition area for easy access. However, it's important to note that this is entirely at their risk. The race organizers will not be held responsible for any misplaced or stolen items, so participants should take appropriate precautions to safeguard their belongings.
Bike Support/Mechanic
The event will provide the services of a bike mechanic stationed at the transition area for participants' convenience. However, it's important to note the following:
1. Responsibility for Bike Issues: If a participant's bicycle experiences a breakdown or puncture during the race, it is the participant's responsibility to bring their bike to the mechanic for repairs.
2. Race Timing: The time spent by a participant getting their bike fixed by the mechanic will be included in their total race time. This means that the clock continues to run while the bike is being repaired, so participants should aim to minimize any delays.
Participants should exercise caution and ensure their bikes are in good working condition before the race to reduce the likelihood of mechanical issues during the event.
Grievances Committee
To ensure that participants have a means to address any concerns or grievances related to the event, a dedicated grievance/complaints committee will be available in the transition area. Participants can approach this committee to seek resolution or assistance with any event-related issues or complaints they may encounter during the duathlon. This committee's presence is intended to provide a mechanism for participants to have their concerns addressed promptly and fairly.
