Islam Enrichment Day
About this Event
This page is for individual registrations and students must be in Year 12 in order to attend with adult accompayment.
School groups should email Tyler Horton at [email protected].
We will start at the Cambridge Central Mosque, where Dr Timothy Winter, who is the Shaykh Zayed Lecturer in Islamic Studies at the Cambridge Faculty of Divinity, will host us for a guided tour of Europe’s first eco-mosque.
After lunch we will have a session on Muslims in Britain from one of our PhD researchers, explore some of the Islamic materials at the University Library, and offer a glimpse of studying theology and religion at the undergraduate level.
There is no cost, but participants will need to provide their own lunch. A packed lunch is the best option.
This event takes place across several venues which are in different parts of Cambridge. Our schedule does not allow for time to walk between locations and so participants will need to have arrangements for transport. The biggest move is from the Mosque to the Facutly site which is about 3.5 km and there is no viable bus route between them. For those driving, please have a look at the parking available around each location as it is quite limited. Please get in touch ([email protected]) if you need help setting this up or with providing transportation.
Please note that we reserve the right to change the details of this event if necessary.
