About this Event
The ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter will be holding its annual AGM and CPE event in-person hosted in the University of Ottawa, S.I.T.E.(STE) Building, Room H0104. The event will begin with a student hosted panel discussion, followed by four presenters on the topic of Digital Trust. The event will include complimentary food and snacks throughout the day. A brief ISACA AGM and elections will be held over the lunch hour.

- Dr. Umar Ruhi, Professor, Information Systems, University of Ottawa

The event is free of charge to ISACA members and members of other professional associations, including the AEA, PMI, FMI, IIA, and IIBA. All participants will receive 7CPEs for their attendance.
Following the presentations there will be a complimentary catered social event at the Waverley restaurant from 5:00-7:00pm.

Info: Umar Ruhi is a Professor of Digital Transformation Strategy at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, where he also serves as Special Advisor on AI Integration and Innovation. Many cybersecurity breaches in recent years have occurred in organizations that had invested heavily in their security posture. They had the certifications, audits, board-level reporting, and governance frameworks to match. Yet they were compromised, sometimes catastrophically. This talk examines why this keeps happening, what it reveals about how we think about trust in cybersecurity, and what we might be getting wrong.

Building Digital Trust through Standards

Info: Keith Jansa is the Chief Executive Officer of the Digital Governance Council. He works with senior leaders from across Canada to address digital governance opportunities and challenges to safeguard Canadians in an increasingly digital world. The Digital Governance Council is a member-driven, not-for-profit organization that works to provide Canadians with confidence in the responsible design, architecture, and management of digital technologies. The Council leads an Executive Forum, develops technology governance standards through the Digital Governance Standards Institute, and verifies organizations on their responsible design, management, and use of digital technologies.
