Topic: Cloud Identity Hijacking & Compliance Shortfalls

Bio: With over 25 years of managed security experience, Keith Johnson is the Executive Vice President of Obviam. He leads a team of cybersecurity professionals dedicated to aiding clients with compliance security initiatives, enhancing operational risk management, and providing continuous visibility into cyber threat identification, resolution, and response. Before joining Obviam, Keith served as COO at Logically, where he spearheaded transformative strategic initiatives across managed IT services, professional services, and cybersecurity. Keith holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BSBA in Computer Information Systems from the University of Louisville and is a passionate advocate for customer service excellence, cybersecurity awareness, and mentorship initiatives.

Topic Abstract: As organizations increasingly rely on cloud platforms like Microsoft 365, emboldened threat actors are shifting their focus to cloud identity. While controls such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) are often implemented to meet compliance expectations, they are no longer a silver bullet. Attackers are bypassing MFA through token theft and session hijacking, enabling silent access to environments that may still appear compliant on paper. In this session, we’ll explore how and why cloud identity has become a primary attack vector, where common compliance-driven controls fall short, and what organizations can do to better align governance, monitoring, and identity security to reduce real-world risk.
