“Hey – it would be cool to actually BE in one?!”
We are excited to host an individual student (age 8-16) cake decorating competition Wednesday April 8, at the Menard Center Commercial Kitchen from 11:30am-3:45pm.
We will have pizza and snacks, local guest baker live judges, and prizes for all!
Cost is $140 per student – we are a Direct Bill vendor for Matsu Central, Twindly Bridge, IDEA, Raven, FOCUS, and Cyberlynx!
The Challenge
Each student will be presented with a meal that includes 3 different food items and given 2 ½ hours to plan and execute their ideas to replicate the meal with the edible materials provided. There will be a required flavor element!
The Schedule
11:45-12:10 Be presented with your meal, tour options of materials such as cake, fillings, fondant colors, molds, melting chocolate and more. Develop a plan and ask for guidance from the judges!
12:15-1:00 Create, decorate, and put your ideas into action! There will be a 15 minute break (1:00-1:15) for each student to ask the judges 1 question each.
1:15-2:30 Finish recreating your meal with a tasting element and get your creation to the judging table!
2:30-3:45 Relax, eat, and celebrate your successes!! Then, share your creations and get feedback from the judges on your technical difficulty, aesthetics, tasting element, and execution of ideas :D
Grand Prize: $50 Gift card to Allen and Petersons and a free future class!
