Irrigation Workshop

Using a peer-to-peer learning format, participants will be introduced to practical, easy-to-use tools for planning and managing irrigation more efficiently. Applying water at the appropriate time and in the appropriate amount can reduce input costs, improve crop health and vigor, and ultimately increase yields.

Specifically, the workshop will demonstrate how to:

1. Estimate crop water requirements at different stages of the growing season
2. Understand the amount of water delivered by an irrigation system
3. Determine optimal irrigation timing and irrigation set durations

The workshop will include a review of affordable, low-tech soil moisture monitoring tools, and hear from three local growers who have successfully integrated these tools into their operations.
