It’s that time again, degenerates.
Join us for the 8th Annual Irreverent Warriors Des Moines Silkies Hike, where veterans and service members come together for a day of camaraderie, questionable decisions, terrible jokes, and a mission that saves lives.
Irreverent Warriors uses humor and veteran-to-veteran connection to improve mental health and help prevent veteran suicide. Sometimes the best therapy is a long walk with people who understand your dark sense of humor and won’t judge your military stories for the hundredth time.
This hike is open to veterans and active-duty military personnel only. Friends and family can’t participate in the hike itself, but they’re welcome to meet us and join the fun at our designated stops throughout the day.
No need to train like you’re invading a small country. We hike at a slow, steady pace so everyone can participate, connect, and enjoy the experience. Whether you’re a marathon runner or get winded carrying groceries, you’ll fit right in.
