Irish Language Classes

Ever wanted to throw a bit of Gaeilge into your day - whether it's to connect with your Irish roots, to impress your friends & family, or just learn something new for the craic?Following the success of our first Irish language class on Heritage Day, we’re back with another relaxed, welcoming session at Malones Leith hosted by Edinburgh Comhaltas.

What to expect

• 45-minute session
• No experience needed (absolute beginners welcome)
• Learn handy Gaeilge phrases you can actually use
• Over-18s only
• Pay what you can on the day
• Each class is different and still perfect for beginners.

About our Hosts

Edinburgh Comhaltas is an inclusive community working to promote Irish traditional music, song and dance as well as the Irish language in Edinburgh. They are open to all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Pay what you can

Tickets are free, but we encourage you to pay what you can on the day to our amazing host. All payments will go directly to the host.

Different content in each class

Each class is designed to have different information and phrases while still being perfect for beginners. You can come to as many as many or as few as you like - and don't feel like you can't come along because you've missed the first class. Anyone is welcome to join at any point.

Location

All events are hosted in the Mezze at Malones Leith, 48-52 Constitution Street, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 6RS.

You are welcome to hang around after the class for lunch or drinks - just let us know if you'd like a table booked.
