Big thanks to all who reached the last session; it was a special blessing from the Bushrocker HiFi family!Our next session focuses on the ladies as part of the International Women's Month celebrations. Featuring the return of Leeds selector and MC duo Lioness Power. We love their style and it appears many others do from the amount of shows and festivals all over the UK they do! Including: Eden Festival, Beat-Herder, Vegan Camp Out, and Northern Green Gathering, plus renowned dub events such as Subdub with Iration Steppas and Dubquake in Geneva with O.B.F. Sound System.
Lioness Power's performances are known for their uplifting and conscious lyrics, complemented by ethereal flutes, Nyabinghi drums, melodic horns, and deep, resonant basslines. Whether holding the mic or selecting tunes they channel upliftment, resistance and deep connection through sound; delivering a selection of uplifting reggae, roots, dub, steppas and beyond...
Together they're on a heartfelt mission to spread a message of love, peace and equality through the unifying power of sound system culture. They will be joined by our resident selectors Alilou, Bo, Ms Fabulous & Sister Silver; all playing through the full Irie Vibes, custom-built, sound system.
In Room 2, a.k.a. the front bar, we will be hosting some of the finest female DJ talent in York playing everything from deep dubstep and garage, to disco and house, all the way through to techno and drum&bass! Featuring: Demeter, Haze-ee, Liminal Bass, Miss Klamer and Sarah Tonin.
