Irene T. Perry, beloved and treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, transitioned peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 1, 2022. A lifelong resident of Tallahassee and retired Leon County School teacher; Irene was born in Chaires, Florida, February 3, 1932.

Irene was a long time Capital City Garden Club member and 1st president of the Jake Gaither Women’s Golf League.

Our Mission

To provide a place where our members and residents of our community can participate in, and study, in all aspects, the fine art of gardening. We do so by educating the public and sharing information, by promoting cooperative gardening, community beautification projects; conducting flower shows, workshops and other events designed to exhibit the products of our gardening efforts. We are also continuously advocating for the conservation and protections of wildflowers, shrubs, trees and other natural resources in and around our community.
