IRB Engine Maintenance WorkshopWe have 4 engines that keep our IRBs ready for action during the patrol season.
Each year, prior to the season, Dave Hickey from SLSNZ tours each region and runs an IRB maintenance workshop to get the engines at each club serviced and ready to go for another season.
This year for our region, that is happening on Saturday 20 September at Universal Engineering, and Wainui, Waikanae and Midway will have their engine’s serviced.
We need help to do this… at least one person per engine. There are no pre-requisites. You don’t need to be an IRB driver…. you don’t even need to have been in an IRB. You don’t even need to be a lifeguard. Furthermore, you don’t even need to have any experience with outboard engines, or any engines for that matter. There’s step by step instructions provided on the day, and Dave is there to lend a hand where it’s required.
If you’re looking for a way to get involved with the club this year but you’re not sure how, we’d love to have you come along and get your hands dirty.
