The Ips typographus beetle is a serious problem that could significantly damage our forestry and timber industries.
Join us to understand the problem more deeply and its implications for you and explore the actions needed.

Who should attend?
The training day suits land managers, woodland owners, agents, timber buyers, woodland managers, woodland contractors, students, and anyone working in or managing woodlands.
Course details:
The brand-new training day aims to inform all relevant people about the significant threat that the Ips typographus beetle represents to UK conifers and, therefore, the broader forest industry.
Owners, managers, timber merchants, students and contractors will benefit from this training and full briefing on identifying the damage. All strategies and advice comply with the Forestry Commission regulations already in place to control the spread of the damage.
Management strategies to cope with infestation and minimise damage in the longer term will also be presented.
Discussions to explore the themes further will be facilitated.
Lunch and refreshments are included.
