Inward: New Works by Harpreet Narula
Art Explore presents Inward, Fashion Designer Harpreet Narula’s first solo exhibition as a contemporary artist, featuring a new body of abstract paintings rooted in the visual and material cultures of Rajasthan and Punjab. Drawing from the painted walls of Shekhawati, the frescoes of Punjab, the structural language of textiles and the rhythm of repetition, Narula’s works explore memory, place, pattern and materiality.
Built through thousands of deliberate marks, the paintings unfold slowly, allowing colour, texture and pattern to accumulate into richly layered compositions. Informed by Narula’s longstanding engagement with textile and garment design, the exhibition presents an abstract visual language shaped by vernacular architecture, textile thinking and the patient act of making.
Curated by Vikram Singh, Inward marks a new chapter in Narula’s artistic practice, bringing together works that are deeply personal while remaining connected to the cultural landscapes and visual traditions that have shaped his way of seeing.
