Invitation to Book Launch
‘The Ramblings of an Amateur Historian’ by Sean O’Loughlin
Sean would like to invite you, to the launch of the above book which will take place on:
Date: Friday 21st March 2025
Time: 8.30pm
Venue: Rockfield School Community Hall situated on the Enniskillen to Ballyshannon Road
History has been a special hobby of Sean’s for many years, locally, nationally and internationally.
An important chapter in his book is dedicated to Dr. James Riordan who served in the Fermanagh Hospital, as well as 18 months in the local area in the 1960’s. His role as a local GP covered Latoon, Cashel, Garrison, Roscor, Castle Caldwell, Mulleek and Belleek. He would like to commemorate the brave and heroic actions of Dr. Riordan which I covered in the last chapter of my book. He has completed a lot of research into his background, and He have been attempting to gain recognition for him locally and nationally for many years. As Sean was compiling his book, he thought it would be a good opportunity to acknowledge Dr. Riordan and bring his heroism to the public domain.
As this is Sean’s hobby his book will be free of charge. There will be a raffle on the night and anyone attending is welcome to make a donation which will go towards further research to commemorate Dr. Riordan.
